The day started off when 14 members of the
wildlife board under the guidance of Miss C. Hawkins (the teacher in
charge) left for SAMRAC, a marine conservation facility in Port
Elizabeth. When the board arrived at the destination they were taken on a
tour and given valuable points on marine life and penguin rescue.
During the tour the boys and Miss Hawkins were given the experience of
going to the pool and meeting the resident birds and penguins. The tour
guide told the boys that there was one very special penguin that
survived a shark attack. When it was time for feeding, the boys and Miss
Hawkins got the chance to see the penguins and birds getting fed. When
the tour was concluded the boys went and spent some time on the beach to
have lunch. Unfortunately it is blue bottle season and the boys and
Miss Hawkins had to watch every step they took, luckily nobody got
stung. A hand must be given to the boys for their Second To None
behaviour.
